L O G O S Program
"Becoming God's People"
September 1, 2010 - April 6, 2011
5:00 - 7:00 PM
What is LOGOS? The term LOGOS means "The Word", and is a national program designed to nurture and foster growth of the whole person-mind, body, and spirit. The program is held from September to April of each year, and is meant to be an enrichment program that is part of the overall religious educational ministry of Evergreen Presbyterian Church.
The purposes of the LOGOS program are:
-To develop intelligent, active, loyal discipleship and leadership
-To provide worthwhile study,
wholesome recreation, and opportunities for service within the community
-To enable young people to develop spiritual maturity and conviction
-To create an understanding of and desire to be a part of the Christian family.
The Four Parts of LOGOS
1. Worship Skills/Music: This program offering will prepare children to understand the worship experience, including music.
2. Crafts/Recreation Time: Participants will explore their creative side through projects to correlate with worship, mission and seasonal activities.
3. Family Time/Dinner: Sharing a meal allows us to experience the special closeness Christ so often shared with his friends.
4. Bible Time: Bible study nurtures our children into biblically informed discipleship.
Classes are available for Preschool - Adults.
COST
The cost for the program:
$ 50 per person for the whole year, or
$100 per family for 2 or more family members.
*The above amount reflects the cost of the program. We are asking for donations from families to cover the cost; however, please do not allow the suggested donation amount to prevent you and your children from participating! God's grace is always sufficient!
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
The LOGOS Program provides parents with
a needed environment of safety, nurture, fun, and fellowship for their
children/youth. Active participation by at least one parent or
sponsor of every child in LOGOS is required. Parents and participants are
invited to join us for dinner as often as possible. Suggested donation for the meal is

DISCIPLINE POLICY
All interactions throughout the LOGOS program are based on these rules:
*
Everyone is to treat everyone as a Child of
God.
*
No one has the right to treat anyone else
as if they do not matter.
The discipline policy of LOGOS is intended to support these principles. Courtesy, good manners and good sportsmanship are expected at all times. All adults function as disciplinarian, teacher and friend, and need to be treated with respect and courtesy. Disciplinary problems will be dealt with as promptly, realistically and consistently as possible. Since LOGOS is intended to help develop relationships with each other and with God, all personal items such as toys, video games, headphones should be left at home. If brought, they will be taken up and kept until closing. Cell phones may be kept with the student but must be turned off while in the building.
MISSION
The LOGOS program adopts a mission opportunity each
semester. This fall each dinner table will raise money to buy bicycles
for local Angel Tree Children. Weekly progress towards this goal will
be charted. Additional opportunities for mission will be embraced as they
arise.
GUEST POLICY
Guests are always welcome. Upon arrival, the guest
needs to be registered and a suggested donation of $2 paid for the meal. Visitors are
expected to stay with the student who brings them throughout the entire LOGOS
program. Visitors may attend LOGOS two times. If they wish to
continue after the second visit, they must enroll in the program and agree to
the same commitments as other members.
