Outreach Team

Members of Evergreen Presbytery Church, through its Outreach Ministry, faithfully and generously respond to God’s call to “Feed my Sheep.”  The Outreach Ministry provides food for the hungry, funds for those in need, assistance for those who live in substandard houses, and prayers and presence to those whom the culture ignores.  These things we do because we believe Christ modeled these efforts in His life and ministry.

Each Wednesday morning the Outreach Ministry Team distributes food and provides financial assistance to those in need.  In 2011, this ministry gave 69,001 pounds of food to 2,247 families.  Also, the total expenditure in 2011 for financial assistance was $24,076.  Please join us in this dynamic ministry.

Mama Tina’s Mission House

In early 2007, Evergreen was approached by David Jamison to consider working with a newly established feeding ministry called “Mama Tina’s Mission House.” Named for Tina Glasgow, the soup kitchen is set up to serve those who are homeless or of low income. Tina had been serving people out of her home but the numbers had increased .

Her son, Ken Glasgow, who had recently started The Ordinary People’s Society (T.O.P.S.), was able to secure a house on South Alice Street to serve from, and they were seeking help through local churches and organizations. Evergreen immediately accepted the invitation  and is moving into it’s fifth year of  partnership with Mama Tina’s Mission House.  Serving the third full week of each month, Evergreen members prepare and serve an average of 125+ meals an evening. The coordinators for the program are Jenny & Craig Winters and Dee Koza & David Jamison.
